Minecraft stuck on downloading native launcher

I have tried giving my computer a software update, updating java, downloading Java SE Runtime, and deleting and reinstalling the Minecraft Launcher. Caused by bug in Avast Antivirus Software. In Avast, you'll need to disable both the File and Web Shields found under Preferences Shields. Once both shields are disabled, you should be able to get the newest version of the launcher. Using the old launcher again now, and it works perfectly save for the fact it spams me with the prompt to uninstall the old launcher.
